In our Abide Bible Study Group at New Hope MInstries, we have started to study Max Lucado's book "It's not about Me". We have such a self centered society today. Everything is about ME, ME, ME. We need to get our eyes off of ME and on to GOD. God does not exist to make a big deal out of us. We exist to make a big deal out of him. It is not about you. It is not about me. It is All About Him! When our deepest desire is not the things of God, or a favor from God, but God Himself, we cross a threshold. These are some thoughts that have jumped off of the pages of the book that hit home to me. Like we discussed in Bible Study, depression sets in when we take our eyes off of God and focus on the "poor me" mentality. I find that the winter is the most depressing time of year for me. Living on a farm (vegetable and beef) we depend on the sun for things to grow. When we remove our eyes from the Son we tend to wallow in our own self pity. We need to be "Son Reflectors". That just means that when our eyes are on the Son of God, he reflects through us. We need to be his light in this dreary world. God Show Me Your Glory!!
